ECHO Update 7/9/09

Aiden had an ECHO Cardiogram done @ 1pm at The Children’s Hospital in Denver. Our last ECHO appointment, 2 weeks prior they had told us that his Aortic Valve was now bleeding into his chest which could possibly cause heart failure, which in-utero would be devastating to Aiden. They also heard a heart arrhythmia. Of course this news wasn’t what we had wanted to hear — We went to PA, not really telling anyone about the news, met with family, held the baby shower in PA and flew back for our checkup ECHO. I was just praying for the status to be the same, not any worse…

Instead the same Dr tells us that even though she told us that the bleeding could not stop on it’s own (because she never had witnessed it during treatment) — it somehow has and stopped completely. Asbolutely no AV leakage. As well as no arrhythmia at all.

Now I have been asked, does this mean everything is fine now. Unfortunately not YET. But, with his Pulmonary Arteries growing (don’t ask me medically how — and don’t quote me, because i forgot to ask, but they we’re going to put a BT Shunt in to “hold up” the small PA’s… I THINK that the PA’s growing may make that part unnecessary) and now the AV not bleeding out (again, don’t ask me medically how) his spleen appearing (uh… medical book please) and an arrhythmia disappearing for 2 tests in a row (can I get a hallelujah people!) — all those things complicate the surgeries he needs to repair the primary heart defects (blood flow direction, missing chamber, missing valve) are disappearing rather astonishingly fast — and of course, with no medical reason. So Aiden’s chances just get better and better with each new piece of good news.

I really want to thank everyone for all the love, thoughts, prayers, support and stories that we will share with Aiden when he get’s older. We continue to pray for everyone, including the BabyCenter mothers. Especially Diana’s Aiden (who thank the lord got his transplant and is doing better and better, may he be home in the arms of his loving family soon), Micah, Katie, Emma Lynn who passed on 6-5-09 (may god be with their family), Sam, Joseph, Eve – Elle and Jack, Trenton (whos doing good after OHS) — I know i’m missing many others, but know we pray for you and your families and the health of all of our children.

God bless.
