So we’ve made it to the ‘full term’ 37 weeks!! We’re still doing 2x weekly NST’s as well as Tracy’s OBGYN. I’m not even going to begin to complain about the 40 minute ride to the hospital — we have to take I25 then CO225 which can be absolutely ridiculous at times — but, we could be like some of the parents that travel in from 3 states or more away. However, Winter is going to be very scary, around here it can get pretty wicked real quick (we’re supposed to see our first snow shower this Tuesday!).
In the time since Tracy’s B-Day and her contraction scare we got our butts into gear and did quite a bit of stuff:
- Bought and Installed a Doggy Door (which is actually a patio panel with a doggy door in it) which through lots of pain, we taught our Golden Retriever to use, only to have her now stop unless she has “permission” to use it. Ugh ![]()
- Got our ViaCord Cord Blood Stem Cell collection kit. A few people have told us it’s a “waste of money” given the small chance that Aiden would actually need those. I see lots of progress being made in various medical areas of the heart using stem cells and can only be hopeful. We don’t feel there is a “price” to be put on anything we see could help him.
- Washed all his clothes. We’ve been working on this a little at a time. Everything is now hung up, folded and in drawers. Organization!!!
- Put his stroller together. I never thought anything could possibly be more confusing. I was wrong. However we did finally figure it out.
- Packed Tracy’s Hospital bag with all of our toiletries, clothes, things to keep busy, camera and such.
- Cleaned the whole house. Yes, my husbandry skills rock!!!
Since our first “contractions scare” we haven’t had any more and the Dr’s tell us that they’ll let her go up to a week past her due date (Max: Oct. 18). They don’t think she’ll have any problems going to her due date or to the 18th, she pounds so much water her fluid levels always get complimented and I have her resting pretty much all day. First time, but I think we know how to “bake” a baby pretty well
Prayers for all the heart families and little heart kiddos out there. Stay strong. God Bless.

Aidan’s bedroom is so cute. Full term is a wonderful feeling. The drive sounds long, but it is worth it. You two are so organized and it will really help in the next few weeks. I hope you are taking some time out to spend with each other. You continue to be in my thoughts and prayers.

Being full term at this point sure is a blessing when there’s CHD involved. I’m so glad Baby Aiden made it! You’re both so organized, if only Baby Aiden can see what’s going on the outside right now
He’s going to be a very blessed baby indeed. Take a day at a time, live the moment. I’m keeping you in my prayers.
That full term mark is amazing! Now just keep him baking a little longer so he gets even bigger and stronger!
Gorgeous room. We are sooo excited for you! Will watch for the latest updates.
WooHoo! The U/S picture is too cute–what a handsome boy! Praying for an easy and smooth delivery for everyone!
LOVE the room! And that wipe warmer is worth EVERY penny! I did the cord blood as well. Dont let anyone make you feel bad about it! You will never know how it will help in the future. It worth it and MORE to me!
